Oh Baby, Have We Got Some News For YOU

So my blogging has been less than adequate...forgiveness is free, right? The silence has been with good reason. We've been enjoying the sights and sounds of London and Paris. Today we head up to Normandy to experience a little more history (and a quaint French village).

Most of you that read this blog has probably seen or already know our BIG news, but for those of you that are out of the loop:

De
cember 25th (or round about!) we're adding a new family member to the Hoover clan! Yes, the two will become three and madness will ensue no doubt! AKA: We're having a baby!

We found out around the end of April, but of course that meant a lot of decisions. I was sweltering and enjoying the finer points of morning sickness in rural Liberia. I've worked with many pregnant women in Liberia, but nothing compares to being pregnant yourself in Liberia. It has proven to be an effective weight loss plan- maybe a little to effective considering I didn't need to lose any weight. My health was beginning to suffer (please don't worry, I'm fine and as far as we know so is the baby!) and so as we looked towards our vacation we prayerfully made the decision that I will be returning home at the end of our trip.

Kyle needs to go back to Liberia to complete some things. We don't like the idea of being apart, but we also know this is the best way forward for the sake of my health and of the Gospel work in Liberia. I am flying home this coming Sunday and Kyle will follow the second week of July.

We have learned nothing from this adventure if it is isn't how to step forward into all that God has for us with hearts full of hope and deep trust. Was this our plan? No. Is it possibly better than our plan? Absolutely. God has led us in each step of this teaching us how to open our hands and hearts wide to His grace and purposes in our lives and those we live alongside of.

Please keep us in your prayers during this time of transition. We truly need it more than ever. Thanks for your continued spiritual and financial support. We will be sending out a formal letter to our supporters in the coming weeks.

Love and Thanks,
Kyle and Jessica

Paris and London Bound!

Hi folks,

Again, sorry for the lack of posts. I know you understand. Sometimes it just be that way. I promise that over the next couple of weeks we will inundate you with posts full of beautiful Parisian streets and English beefeaters desperately trying not to laugh at two people who have clearly been in Liberia for too long.

We leave out tomorrow (Sunday) for Monrovia and will be headed for Paris on Wednesday! We are so ready for this break! God has blessed us tremendously to be able to go on this trip and we look forward to a restful and really super duper fun time.

Much love to all,

Better Late Than Never

Hi Friends and Family,

Our apologies to all our faithful readers. It wasn’t our intention to leave ya hangin’ but sometimes blogging isn’t a priority! Not that ya’ll aren’t a priority, it’s just…well, you know what I mean!

Quick shout out to our dear friends the Davis’s. Spencer and Amy welcomed the newest addition to their family on Monday! Jedidiah (Jed) Spencer Davis made his entrance with a full head of black hair and at a walloping 10lbs. 1 oz.! We’re so happy for our sweet friends!

Back to Liberia…

We’re in Monrovia this week for a couple of meetings. Kyle got to sit with the big wigs in Water and Sanitation at a Monrovia level meeting. Now all ya’ll know that Kyle is the kind of guy that likes to get his hands dirty doing real work. The folks he was meeting with are the type that like to talk about doing real work. Needless to say, Kyle doesn’t quite fit in this scene. So back to Nimba we will go on Saturday so that the real work can continue.

We are under the two week mark until we leave on our trip to France! WAHOO! Pray for our sanity and focus over the course of the next two weeks! It’s like a kid waiting Christmas!

Thanks for the support and prayers. The next few months are looking as if they are going to be super interesting and exciting and more than ever I think we will need your prayers. Keep em’ coming!

Weekly Prayers Needs:

Pray for our health and endurance.

Pray for our work to be a conduit of the Gospel to hungry hearts (both to those we are working with and for!)

Pray for our safety as we travel to and from Monrovia and Europe. (Jessica doesn’t like to fly- ‘member?)

Pray for us as God grows and stretches our marriage.
